The Mainfest, one of the oldest festivals in Frankfurt. Its origin dates back to 1340, when the first festival was held as homage to the River Main by local fishermen and boatmen.
Despite the challenging history of more than 600 years during which the festival was cancelled or even moved to a different location, the main traditions have been retained: the wine flow from the Fountain of Justice & the Fischerstechen (water jousting competition), historically a tournament between two teams for the best place on the fish market.

The Frankfurt’s biggest Japanese culture event, Main Matsuri Festival, returns for second year to Walther-von-Cronberg-Platz next to the River Main with extended entertainment program and free admission.
From hand-crafts and martial arts to learning the language, you’ll get lost in a brand new hobby with numerous workshops. Enjoy the savour food and drink from sushi and sake to snacks and sweets, before soaking up some traditional Japanese culture.

4.Apple Wine Festival
Apple wine is more than just a drink – it’s also culture, history, tradition and also a ten-day festival in Frankfurt!
Known locally as “Ebbelwoi”, apple wine roots go back to the 17th century when the Frankfurt’s wine-makers turned to other fruits to save the industry due to severe disease that destroyed vineyards.
The annual tribute to one of the city’s most famous beverages takes place every year in August and offers a unique experience of apple wine tasting. The event traditionally accompanied by a diverse entertainment program and wide range of local German specialities.

5.Visit Summer Deck Frankfurt at Skyline Plaza shopping mall
Located on the roof of Skyline Plaza shopping mall, this open air deck is a new sky-high location in Frankfurt.
Charming setup with deck furniture, lounge bar, spectacular skyline views, but this place has so much more to offer: sport activities & yoga classes organised by Meridian Spa & Fitness, open air cinema and DJ sets with party.

6.Rheingauer wine week Wiesbaden
It’s wine o’clock! The 44th Rheingau Wine Festival will take place from 9 to 18 August 2019 between the Wiesbaden city hall, market church and city palace. Guest will have an opportunity to taste top-class local still and sparkling wines and enjoy a diverse entertainment programme in an atmospheric setting.
Winemakers from the Rheingau and Wiesbaden offer their products for tasting at around 100 stands. With an attractive and sumptuous range of food served at 20 additional stands, caterers ensured that nobody stays hungry.

8. Open Air at Blaues Wasser
If you haven’t been yet to one of the Frankfurt’s best outside spot Blaues Wasser, then this open air party is a must visit in August.

9.Museum Embankment Festival
With an annual attendance of ca. 2.5 million visitors, Museum Embankment Festival in Frankfurt is one of the biggest cultural events in Europe. Held directly on the banks of the River Main with Frankfurt’s impressive skyline in the background, this event is a a unique combination of culture and the arts, music, dance, theatre and cuisine.
During the three-day festival you can expect a superb museum programmes with longer opening hours, countless stage presentations, colourful live performances and obviously a wide range of culinary delicacies.
For the free admission to all participating museums during the festival make sure you get a special Museum Embankment Festival button, which is available at the museums and the Tourist Information Offices at Römerberg and Main Train Station for a € 7.00 fee.

10.Skyline Sunset Cruise by MS Catwalk Club Boat
