- Freßgassfest 2019
Freßgass Fest is one of the most popular spring festivals in Frankfurt for a good reason: it has everything that a good festival needs. The area between Opernplatz and Börsenplatz (Freßgass) becomes an entertainment mile with a countless number of food & wine stalls.
Untill 1977 the “Freßgass” (literally, “Grazing Street”) was an unofficial name, adopted around 1900 by its local population, for the streets Kalbächer Gasse and Große Bockenheimer Straße, because of their many high-end food shops and bakeries, making it the most famous food shopping street in Frankfurt.

2. Friedberger Markt After-work
Every Friday after 6 pm the typical weekly market at Friedberger Platz with fresh fruits, vegetables and other specialities from local farmers becomes a biggest openair after-work event in Frankfurt.
During the high season from May to September it’s a popular spot among Frankfurt’s young professional to celebrate the weekend while meeting old friends or making new ones.

5. Wine summer opening at Johannisberg castle
Visit the world’s first Riesling wine estate Johannisberg castle on May 24 and join the wine summer opening party with live music, wide choice of culinary delights, great wine selection and breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards.

6. Walk among wildlife at Opel Zoo
Opel-Zoo in Kronberg (Taunus) with more than 1,400 animals is the second large zoological garden and one of the mostly visited recreational and cultural facilities in Hesse.
The zoo provides you with snacks (for an additional fee) so that you can feed many of the animals there. Beautiful forest scenery of the park and panoramic view of the elephant area from the cafe’s terrace are the special highlights of the place.
